DunningWebsterUnderwood - Bleed

DunningWebsterUnderwood is a new project adding 'drone-doom' tubaist Sam Underwood to my long-running saxophone and turntable duo with Graham Dunning. Our debut album 'Bleed' was recorded last year in an improvised session at Sam's studio in Worcestershire.

"..a slow, steady exploitation of applied pressure, an improvisation structured on deep breath-blooms like monolithic, dry ice-shrouded Sunn O))) riffs, stretched and slowed." - Tim Owen (Dalston Sound)

The album is available on CD and download from Adaadat Records.

Line-up: Graham Dunning - turntable & effects, Colin Webster - baritone saxophone, Sam Underwood - tuba

Rotterdam

I'm heading to Rotterdam at the end of the month for two collaborative shows. The first is with Dead Neanderthals at Vrooom, and the second is with Albatre at Roodkapje. This will be my first time guesting with Albatre, and third time with Dead Neanderthals following our mini-tour in the UK.

The Netherlands has a really strong scene of artists at the moment exploring the frayed edges of improvised music, free jazz, noise, metal, electronics, and so on, and I'm really excited to be involved with these two shows.

Details about both shows:

27th June: Vrooom, Rotterdam w/ Dead Neanderthals.

28th June: Roodkapje, Rotterdam w/ Albatre.

Chamber Show

Playing this show on friday. I'll be doing a baritone duo with David O'Connor (yes, two baritone saxophones). We'll be doing an improvised set inspired by doom metal - low and loud.. Really looking forward to this one!
